We have been towing our own recreational trailers for over 20 years and for the last few years we have moved over 200 trailers per year to various destinations all over the place for RV dealers and owners just like you.

The vast experience we have as fellow RV owners adds to the overall service we provide. Every trailer we tow has a pre-trip inspection performed (including wheel nut torque, tire pressure, brake operation, lights, etc.) to help ensure a trouble-free transit between locations.

GoMaxRV has full insurance coverage (commercial delivery with transporter coverage) as well our drivers are properly licensed for heavy trailer towing (over 4600 kg / 10,200 LBS) as required by ICBC. Although the neighbor or a fly-by-night person on Facebook may also offer to tow your RV, is the lack of insurance and licensing worth the risks? Our focus is on travel trailers (house trailers, 5th wheels, ball-mounted travel trailers, etc.) When it comes to boats, cargo trailers or flat deck trailers we prefer to let other towing companies handle those as they are setup to handle the unique requirements of those loads.

As we are not a conventional towing company, we do not provide any recovery or emergency towing services. If your RV is damaged, not road worthy, or does not have valid insurance you will need to call a local tow-truck company for assistance.

GoMaxRV Solutions believes in fair & transparent pricing. Although other companies (or the part-timer on Facebook) may quote flat rates such as $125 to $150 per hour, this isn't realistic and in most cases is far too high.

There are many factors that come into play in determining the correct transportation cost, such as current fuel prices or if there are tolls involved (ferries, etc). Also, depending on the distance and time required there may also be an over night stay required in order to not exceed the maximum allowable driving hours per day.

Our process is to use the starting address and the destination address to properly determine the distance and time required and to ensure the route is the best option based on our experience of the province and highways. We then work out an estimate using our logistics software which ensures the final price is accurate and affordable.

Typically a short-haul does not require a deposit, however longer distance transports or those heading over to Vancouver Island will require a 25% deposit ahead of time with the balance payable upon delivery.

Although we have our own commercial delivery insurance with $5 million liability, it is your responsibility to properly insure your RV for transit on the road. As we are towing your travel trailer or 5th wheel trailer you must have valid insurance and registration.

Some RV transporters claim that Transporter plates are required for this purpose. A Transporter plate is used for unregistered or unlicensed vehicles and uses a special insurance policy that the towing company will have that covers the towed vehicle. Although we also have Transporter plates for situations where we need to move an unregistered trailer, we have confirmed with ICBC that all registered trailers carrying their own insurance policy provides the proper insurance required to transport from A to B.

Our recommendation is to check with your insurance broker to confirm you are adequately covered to have your unit towed. Our driver will require a visual inspection of the insurance papers to ensure validity and coverage.

In most cases we will not go off-road with any RV. Our trucks have highway tires and are not outfitted for the back country. There are special cases however where we will tow off highway such as some provincial campgrounds that have gravel access roads. Forest service campgrounds are pretty much off limits though as they are usually located high up in the mountains and have rugged terrain.

A local towing company that specializes in recovery will certainly be able to perform the towing needed for your RV, however the cost will be substantially higher and the wait time might also be significant. Although it doesn't hurt to call for a quote to compare, we are confident that we can provide a more personalized service at a lower cost and are very flexible with scheduling.

If your RV is damaged or not road worthy, you will definitely need a traditional towing service or flat deck service to transport your RV.

Generally speaking no this is not included with the provided quote to transport your RV. The expectation is that your unit will be ready for transit requiring only to be hooked up to our tow vehicle, and once we arrive at the destination we will place it into the location desired and disconnect.

We can certainly assist with the take-down (buttoning up the unit, packing up hoses, raising the jacks, etc.) and we would also be willing to help out with the setup (levelling, hose and power connection, etc.) however there would be additional time and costs involved.

Yes! Although you will still require road insurance on your trailer as it must be registered in your name. In most cases a T.O.P or Temporary Operating Permit will be sufficient to get the trailer from the dealer you purchased from to your home or recreational property. As you will need additional insurance to cover the fire/glass/vandalism while using your trailer, you may want to inquire about the road policy for transit at the same time.

Absolutely. There are some considerations to be made here as it usually involves many days of transit across multiple provinces. Insurance again is the big concern. You will want to make sure your insurance policy will cover your unit while in other provinces.

It is also worth noting that the trailer must be empty and can not be loaded up with your belongings as it likely will exceed weight limits, not to mention it will drastically increase fuel consumption having all the extra weight.

Typically we will not enter your unit. We are required to know what is inside and to be able to inspect to ensure the unit is empty, beyond that we will not go inside. Your unit must not contain any additional cargo, as we are not responsible or liabile for any cargo beyond what the trailer was supplied with from the factory should an accident occur.

Rest assured that we will not be sleeping inside your trailer, and absolutely will not use the washroom. We have heard that other transporters out there will sleep in customers units to avoid having to pay for hotel rooms, or will pull over at road side pullouts to use the RV's washrooms. This is very unprofessional and will never occur with GoMaxRV.

Yes and No!

Although we are fortunate here in British Columbia to have excellent winters with minimal snow in the lower valley areas in most locations, there is still snow! The risks involved in towing any trailer in the snow greatly increases (not only because of the trailer, but the other drivers out there who either don't know how to handle snow conditions or have bad tires). Due to the increased risk, we will not move a trailer when there is snow or ice on the road. Usually a few days wait is enough for the snow to melt and the road to return to safe conditions.

We encourage you to contact us to discuss your requirements throughout the winter, and if you can be flexible around the weather we will certainly do our best to help out. But keep in mind we may have to postpone a delivery if a storm blows in. This is for the safety of the drivers and to protect your valuable trailer from an accident occurring.

Although it may sound appealing to have a random person who posted on Facebook tow your RV to save a few bucks, is the risk really worth it?

Chances are this person may not have the proper heavy trailer licensing, and/or commercial transport insurance in case there is an accident. Risking these critical items to save a bit on transport is a gamble. Should you choose to go this route, hopefully everything goes smooth and your RV makes in from start to finish with no problems.

Another consideration is liability insurance. If the low-cost driver moving your RV accidently causes damages to someone else's property or worse yet, hits someone, they may not have proper liability coverage and now you may become involved because it was your RV involved. Again, is this worth the risk to save a little?
